Upload and Manage Your Own Images in BoardCraft
Bring your own photos, clipart, logos, and classroom graphics into BoardCraft, then keep them ready to reuse across your boards.
Your personal image library lives in the editor’s Upload panel. Files added there remain available in My Uploads, so you can use the same image on more than one board without uploading it again.
1. Prepare your images
BoardCraft accepts PNG, JPG, and JPEG image files in the personal upload library. Before uploading, check that the file is a supported type and is smaller than the per-file limit shown for your plan.
Choose PNG when you need a transparent background, such as for clipart or a logo.
Choose JPG or JPEG for photographs and other rectangular images that do not need transparency.
Use clear filenames such as
school-mascot-blue.pngso the source file is easy to recognize later.Only upload images you created or have permission to use, especially when preparing resources for sale.
2. Upload through the tools panel
Open any saved board in the BoardCraft editor.
Select Upload in the left tools panel. If the panel is hidden, use the toolbar button that shows the tools panel first.
Drag one or more supported images into the dashed upload area, or select Choose File and pick the files on your computer.
Keep the editor open while BoardCraft uploads and prepares the images.
Find the finished images under My Uploads.
Uploading through this panel adds files to your library but does not automatically place them on the current board. This makes it convenient to prepare several assets first and decide where to use each one afterward.
3. Drop images directly on the canvas
For a faster one-step workflow, drag image files from your computer directly onto the board canvas.
If you drop one to five supported images, BoardCraft uploads them to My Uploads and places them near the drop point on the board.
When several images are placed together, BoardCraft offsets them slightly so you can see and arrange each one.
If you drop a larger batch, BoardCraft uploads the supported images to My Uploads without placing the whole batch on the board. You can add the ones you need afterward.
If the batch contains unsupported files, BoardCraft skips those files and displays a notice.
4. Place and edit an uploaded image
After an image appears under My Uploads, you can add it in either of these ways:
Select the thumbnail to place the image in the center of the board.
Drag the thumbnail from My Uploads onto the canvas to choose its starting position.
Once the image is on the board, it behaves like other image elements. You can move, resize, rotate, duplicate, layer, group, lock, hide, or delete it using the canvas controls, selection toolbar, Properties panel, or Layers panel.
5. Reuse uploads in other BoardCraft tools
My Uploads is shared across your BoardCraft workspace rather than belonging to only one board. Open another board, choose Upload, and the same library is available.
Your uploaded images can also appear in compatible image and fill pickers. This lets you use personal artwork when building designs such as image-filled elements, banners, borders, and name tags where the tool offers a My Uploads category.
A practical organization habit
Upload the original image once, then reuse it. Re-uploading identical copies makes the library harder to scan and consumes storage without improving the result.
6. Understand storage and file-size limits
The Upload panel shows how much storage your account is using and the maximum size allowed for each new file. Current plan limits are:

If your account is close to its storage limit, the panel displays a warning. Delete genuinely unused uploads, reduce oversized source files, or compare plans if you need more room.
7. Delete uploads safely
Deleting an upload is different from deleting an image element from a board:
Delete an element from the canvas when you only want to remove that placed copy from the current design.
Delete from My Uploads when you want to remove the source image from your personal library.
Open the Upload panel.
Use the selection control on an upload thumbnail. You can select more than one upload.
Select the trash button in the selection bar.
Read BoardCraft’s usage warning, then confirm only when you understand the impact.
If an upload is unused, deletion permanently removes it. Keep your original source files backed up outside BoardCraft; your upload library should not be your only copy.
8. Solve common upload problems
“Unsupported file type”
Convert the image to PNG, JPG, or JPEG, then try again. Renaming a file extension is not the same as converting the image format.
“File is too large”
Check the maximum file size shown in the Upload panel. Resize or compress the original image, or use a plan with a higher per-file allowance.
“Upload storage limit reached”
Remove unused files after checking their usage warnings, or upgrade to a plan with more personal upload storage.
The image uploaded but is not on the board
This is expected when you upload through the dashed area. Find the image under My Uploads, then select its thumbnail or drag it onto the canvas. A direct canvas drop of more than five images also sends the batch to My Uploads without placing every file.
The image looks blurry
Start with a higher-resolution source file and avoid enlarging a small image far beyond its original dimensions. A large file size alone does not guarantee a sharp image—the source pixel dimensions also matter.
An upload is still counting toward storage after removal
The file may still be required by a shared template or cloned board. BoardCraft preserves those dependencies so existing designs continue to work.

The file is within the per-file limit shown for your plan.
You have permission to use the image.
You chose the Upload panel for library preparation or canvas drop for immediate placement.
You kept an original backup outside BoardCraft.
You reviewed usage warnings before deleting anything from My Uploads.
