Choose the tools that fit your classroom or resource shop, understand trial and renewal charges, and manage your plan from the Subscription page.

1. Match the plan to your work
Free: explore the editor, use free assets, save up to 10 boards, upload your own images within smaller limits, and export in PNG, PDF, or Print Pack. No payment method is required for the Free plan.
Teacher: create classroom decor regularly with unlimited boards, the premium asset library, and larger upload allowances.
Seller: get Teacher features plus Export Asset Bundle, cloneable template sharing, larger upload allowances, and commercial-use workflows for completed educational resources.
PNG, PDF, and Print Pack exports are available without daily or monthly caps on all three plans. Teacher does not include Asset Bundle or publishing cloneable templates. See Which BoardCraft Export Should I Use? for the export comparison.
Free and Teacher are for classroom use. Seller commercial use remains subject to the applicable asset licenses and BoardCraft Terms; it does not grant unrestricted resale of BoardCraft assets as standalone files.
2. Compare board, export, and upload limits
Allowance | Free | Teacher | Seller |
|---|---|---|---|
Saved boards | Up to 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Asset library | Free assets | Free and premium | Free and premium |
PNG, PDF, and Print Pack exports | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Upload storage | 50 MB | 500 MB | 2 GB |
Maximum upload file size | 5 MB | 10 MB | 20 MB |
3. Choose monthly or annual billing

Use the Monthly and Annual controls on Pricing or the signed-in Upgrade page. Both billing cycles unlock the same features for the selected plan.
Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing |
|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | $0 |
Teacher | $6 per month | $54 per year; equivalent to $4.50 per month |
Seller | $15 per month | $135 per year; equivalent to $11.25 per month |
These listed USD prices were checked for this guide on November 4, 2026. Annual billing saves 25% compared with twelve monthly payments. An annual price displayed as a monthly equivalent is billed for the year, as a single annual payment.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Review the current checkout total, applicable taxes, billing cycle, and renewal details before confirming a purchase.
4. Start a Teacher trial or upgrade
Sign in to the BoardCraft account you want to upgrade.
Open Upgrade or Pricing and choose Monthly or Annual.
Select the available action for your plan. Eligible Teacher accounts may see Start 7-day free trial or Try Teacher free for 7 days; other accounts may see Choose Teacher, Choose Seller, or Upgrade to Seller.
Review the Freemius checkout details, including any trial end date and future charge, then complete checkout if the offer suits you.
Allow the account update to finish and check your plan and status in Subscription.
Trial availability depends on eligibility and purchase history. If the action is not offered, do not assume a new trial is available.
Teacher subscribers can use View seller upgrade in Subscription. Check the amount and renewal terms shown in checkout for the upgrade. For billing-cycle changes or other plan changes not offered on screen, contact support.
5. Read your Subscription status and access date
The Subscription page shows your plan, status, account email, and access or renewal date. Check the email first if the plan does not match your purchase.
Status | What to check |
|---|---|
Free plan | You are using Free allowances. Upgrade or an eligible Teacher trial may be offered. |
Active | Paid access is available within the current period. Check Renews on for the next date. |
Trialing | Your trial is active. Check the trial end and future charge in checkout or billing details. |
Cancelled | Renewal has been cancelled. Check Access through for the remaining access date. |
Past due | A payment needs attention. Update payment details; do not assume access continues beyond the displayed period. |
Expired | The paid access period has ended. Free allowances apply even if the previous paid plan name remains visible. |
A plan name alone does not establish current paid access. Read it together with the status and date.
6. Manage payment methods, invoices, and purchases

For linked Freemius subscriptions, the Payments area contains an Embedded billing portal with subscription, payment, and invoice details.
Update payment method: the button near the plan summary takes you to the billing area. Choose Update payment there to open the payment form.
Invoices: choose Invoice beside a listed payment to open its invoice in a new tab.
Refresh: reload the embedded billing details after a change.
Restore purchases: when available, use this to reconnect and synchronize an existing purchase with your account. It does not start a new subscription.
Open in new tab: open the external billing portal. If embedded tools cannot load, the fallback may be labelled Open billing portal.
A Free account without linked billing may show No billing details yet. An account managed outside Freemius may show Billing is managed outside the customer portal. Contact support for payment changes when the normal controls are unavailable.
7. Cancel renewal and check the confirmation
Open Subscription for the correct account.
Choose Cancel subscription beside Payments, or use the cancellation control inside the linked billing panel. Contact support if your account is managed outside the customer portal.
Read the confirmation and access date. Use Keep subscription if you do not want to continue.
Confirm with Cancel at period end for paid plans or Cancel free trial for a trial in the Subscription dialog. Use Cancel renewal in the billing-panel dialog.
Check the resulting cancellation message and status. Refresh billing details if necessary.
Paid subscribers normally keep paid access through the current paid period. Cancelling an active Teacher trial ends premium access immediately. To avoid a charge, cancel before the trial ends and verify the cancellation succeeded.
Cancellation does not delete your boards. After paid access ends, Free limits and feature access apply. If you already have 10 or more boards, new-board and duplication actions are limited; existing boards are not automatically deleted to reduce the count.
Seller template access requires current Seller access, so check any links you have distributed when changing or ending that plan. Cancellation stops renewal; refund requests follow the separate Refund Policy.
8. Resolve common billing problems
Checkout is still loading: wait for the checkout action to become available. If it fails, reload Pricing or Upgrade.
A completed purchase has not updated the plan: the success page may say Still syncing. Give the update time, then use Refresh this page and check Subscription. Avoid buying again just to force an update.
Billing details are missing or stale: verify the account email, use Refresh, and try Restore purchases if it is offered.
The payment form or embedded portal fails: use Open in new tab or Open billing portal.
A plan change is blocked by Past due: resolve the existing payment issue before changing plans.
If the issue remains, contact BoardCraft support with your account email and relevant receipt or invoice reference so the purchase can be located.
